SASASNET
THE VEHICLE FOR AFRICA'S DEVELOPMENT
The network is aimed at promoting, coordinating, and supporting Africa”s skill and apprenticeship agenda
Welcome
Sub – Saharan African Skills & Apprenticeship Stakeholders Network (SASASNET)
It is no secret that the African continent has been experiencing a shortage of skills in the most important sectors related to development and growth, such as science and technology, engineering, mathematics, advanced technologies, automation, artificial Intelligence, robotics, nanotechnology, 3D printing, and autonomous vehicles.
This reality has, at times, slowed down our journey towards sustainable, inclusive growth and development. But here, as the vehicle for Africa’s Development, we’re ready to change that narrative.
Africa also has a latent untapped potential, the informal skills sector, which engages about 75% of the youth employment. This must be harnessed and developed with standards and quality assurance, to contribute more to the development of our economies.
SASASNET is the vehicle for the transformation of the informal skill sector across the continent, to a formidable work force that would meet our local needs, close existing skill gaps, and even for export across the world.
